SOLD HOTEL – Hunday Manor Hotel
Colliers UK have sold the Hunday Manor Hotel located near Workington, England.
The hotel has been sold to Osprey Hospitality Group. The 27-bedroom hotel was sold for a guide price of £1.6m.
Sitting on four acres of grounds, the hotel was owned and managed by Joe Wilson. Along with 27 bedrooms, it has a 70-seat restaurant, lounge and cocktail bar, and air-conditioned conference and banqueting rooms for 250 guests.
Mr Wilson has sold the hotel to retire. He said: “I’ve had a wonderful time managing the hotel over the years and have enjoyed welcoming our thousands of guests including families, tourists and locals celebrating their events in our suites. However now is the right time to handover the reins to a new owner/operator, who I’m sure will continue to provide a great experience for our guests.”
Osprey Hospitality Group currently operates The Galloping Horse in High Harrington and The Peddler in Whitehaven. This will be their first hotel asset for their UK hospitality portfolio.
Craig Lowery from Osprey Hospitality Group said: “Hunday Manor Hotel is a great business ideally located on the edge of the Lake District National Park and near our other properties. As a growing business we’re excited to take on the next challenge of welcoming guests and hosting special events for our customers including weddings and other special occasions. We have exciting refurbishment plans for the hotel and we look forward to sharing these soon.”
Neil Thomson, of Colliers, added: “Colliers has seen unprecedented demand for hospitality business in Cumbria and the Lake District National Park in the past couple of years thanks to its popular demand with domestic as well as international tourists. We’re pleased to have been able to facilitate the quick sale of Hunday Manor Hotel which was only listed on the market earlier this year – this is our 56th sale in the region since the beginning of 2021.”
