The Grade II Listed Old Vicarage Hotel is believed to date back as early as the 14th Century and still includes many stunning original features including wood panelled ceilings, open Hamstone fireplaces, exposed beams and original ‘wig cupboard’.
The hotel trades year round, enjoying a good mix of leisure and business guests, with around half of the business’ revenues being generated through accommodation sales. The Restaurant and Bar have a good reputation locally and are popular with both non residents and residents alike.
Internal Details
The bar provides the main public entrance to the bar and restaurant areas. The bar is split into two areas, the main bar and snug, and provides seating for circa 20 guests.
The main restaurant is open plan and can seat up to 44 covers. In addition, doors lead out into the old outdoor terrace area, which has recently been enclosed with a roof and removable soft walls to create a further dining area for up to 42 covers. This area also has an outdoor pizza oven. Leading off the main dining room is the ‘Oak Room’, a smaller dining space generally used for smaller events or private dining, which can seat up to 14 covers.
External Details
To the rear of the hotel is a large private lawned garden with gravel pathways and manicured flower beds. There is also an additional garden area connected to the staff cottage. A marquee is erected in the rear garden when in use and can accommodate wedding and event parties of up to 84 seated guests.
The hotel has a dedicated secure car park with space for up to eight vehicles.

Accounts for the year ending March 2022 show a net turnover of £626,175 and an EBTIDA OF £173,717.

The historic market town of Bridgwater is situated on the tidal River Parrett, nestled between the Mendip and Quantock Hills and the Somerset Levels.
