International real estate advisor Savills, on behalf of private clients, has completed the sale of Meudon Country House Hotel and Bream House in Cornwall, to Kingfisher Resorts Meudon Limited, off a guide price of £3.5 million.
The freehold, 4-star Manor House Hotel provides 30 en suite bedrooms nestled in over eight acres of historic, subtropical gardens which date back to the 1800s and enjoys views over the gardens to Bream Cove. The hotel’s facilities include AA Rosette restaurant, bar, lounge, tapestry room and studio. Scenic al-fresco dining is also provided on the landscaped lawns and terraces. Harry and Val Pilgrim bought Meudon in 1964 and built the hotel, opening as “the premier hotel in Cornwall” charging £5 per day to stay in 1966.
The sale encompassed Bream House, a substantial five bedroom house in a private position on the headland with outstanding views over Falmouth Bay.
